FEMINSMO includes a focus on the liberation of women from oppression by men. For example, I created Chastity to embody the tangle of thoughts and feelings about eroticism, feminism, rape, and overwhelming feelings of engulfment by male energies, all within the context of the identical saline solution of the womb and sea, in which both creatures were born.

2017, Catherine Young with retired mechanical shark made by Arthur Ganson and Doug Fitch. This shark flew across the ceiling of the Roxy Nightclub in Boston in the early 1990's. It now enjoys its retirement at Halo Hill Studios.
